Female-led agency YARD has taken a creative stand against the overturning of Roe v. Wade with STOP THE HORROR, a poster campaign that reimagines six scary movie classics with humorous plays on their titles, plots and designs.
The campaign consists of six posters with clever, reproductive rights related spins on the original films, featuring titles such as “Rosemary’s Abortion,” “I Know What You Did This Summer” and “CARRIE to Term,” emphasising that horror movies are much scarier when they mirror real life.
As a predominantly female-staffed agency, YARD felt especially passionate about the project. With its impressive design and comedic elements aside, the campaign has a clear, dark undertone of unsettling social relevance.
The posters will be plastered across five neighbourhoods in New York from October 25th, and the initiative will be housed on its own website.
