Taken from Sweet Boy, the second album from Belgian garage-punk outfit Sons, the song’s sense of unease is brilliantly captured in this unsettling video.

Produced by CZAR Brussels, the film features actor Aren Welvaert, who appeared in Mercken’s first video for the band, for the track Nothing, and is the face of the band’s cover art.

Here he appears waking from disturbing nightmares and setting about a series of mundane chores  – home workouts, watering his begonias, feeding the parrots etc – while attempting to ignore a cast of strange ghosts who fetch up in his dreary home and gawp at him.

He is also troubled by pesky snakes in the bed and his band members attempting to drown him in the tub. Not ideal.
