In slang terms, an 'Irish goodbye' is a thoughtless gesture - exiting an event without saying your farewells. It's ironic, therefore, that the track and short film at the heart of Kneecap's Irish Goodbye is anything but thoughtless...

Directed by Artclass's Thomas James, the 13-minute drama looks at a family devastated by loss; the tale punctuated by Móglaí Bap's heartfelt lyrics, aided by Kae Tempest.

Managing to inject authenticity and emotion into the piece, James' use of unflinching close-up (actor Liam Cunningham in especially gut-wrenching form) and snatches of levity (the NSFW wreath top-tier gallows humour) makes for an extended runtime that's worth every second.
