Developed by Zurda/Mexico for charity The Trevor Project as part of Pride Month, this quietly heartbreaking short film highlights the importance of support networks in the mental health and emotional well-being of LGBTQ+ youth.

Sensitively directed by Kane Kwik through Central Films, the film, titled When No One Is There, follows a mother and father who march at Pride in honour of their child, Ale, who died by suicide in 2021. The initiative is rooted in a devastating truth: according to The Trevor Project México, 53% of LGBTQ+ youth in the country seriously considered suicide in the past year, while one in three reported having attempted it.

Romina Levi, Managing Director of Zurda México, added: “This campaign comes from a deeply sensitive place: understanding that many LGBTQ+ young people go through fear, anxiety, and pain in silence. Working alongside The Trevor Project was a huge responsibility because from the very beginning we understood that this wasn't only about Pride or visibility—it was also about mental health, empathy, and support.”
