Created by agency Alto, this cinematic film, Time To Fly, from artificial intelligence research organisation OpenAI demonstrates how its Codex software opens up a new world of creative possibilities for developers.
Emerging from conversations with real engineers, the film, directed by Mark Molloy through SMUGGLER, blends impressive practical effects and VFX to follows three developers who ascend into space as they experience a new feeling of momentum, flow, and opportunities in their work when using the AI coding technology.
Hannes Ciatti, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Alto, said: “We built the sets practically to tilt and shift on large-scale gimbals. Combined with extensive in-camera effects and physical prop work, we created spaces that felt grounded and real, with true physics for the actors to contend with, allowing for honest reactions to the environment and the world.
The custom stage mechanics and lighting techniques developed on set allowed the energy and movement of the story to happen live, and you can feel that in the film."
