This winsome promo for James Blunt’s Circles sees the singer-songwriter, former captain with the British Army (where he drove tanks) and loveable star of the reality show Traitors sing mournfully about sleep-stopping circular thoughts and existential ennui while riding about on a mini tractor.
Directed by Jack Howard and produced by Untold Studios, the film puts Blunt’s playful side front and centre. The juxtaposition of a huge star on a tiny vehicle is also enriched by the celebrity wearing an anomalous bank manager-style suit.
Circles was written by James Blunt, George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse and released as part of the album Airplane Mode.
Fun fact: During his time serving in Kosovo, Blunt had his guitar strapped to the outside of his tank and would perform for troops.
