Internationally celebrated production company Madre has signed acclaimed filmmaker Nico Bori to its directorial roster, further expanding its presence across Europe and the UK.

Known for crafting emotionally resonant stories on a cinematic scale, Bori brings a rich global perspective and deep narrative instinct to the company’s creative family.

Originally from Argentina and now based in Berlin, Bori’s path into filmmaking was anything but conventional. After an early start making animated shorts, he veered into business, studying international marketing and working at Google in Ireland before rediscovering his creative voice. That journey eventually led him to direct branded content across Africa, including work for Dragoman Expeditions, which laid the foundation for his signature blend of documentary intimacy and visual ambition.

Bori’s award-winning branded shorts, including Breaking Glass for Scandinavian Airlines and The Decision, a powerful piece on organ donation awareness in Argentina, have earned recognition from Ciclope, Young Director Award, Clio Awards, Kinsale Sharks, 1.4, and the Cannes Corporate Awards.

His style is marked by performance-driven storytelling, VFX fluency, and deep humanism, with a strong narrative backbone running through every frame. His upcoming campaign for Lime consists of six wryly observed shorts exploring iconic moments in everyday life through the lens of micro-mobility, a fresh, humorous twist on timeless themes.

“I want to tell stories that cut through the clutter,” says Bori. “The spirit at Madre feels truly international. They’re deeply committed to craft, and I feel seen in the kind of work they support. After meeting Executive Producer Carl Wyant at several festivals and connecting with the Madre team, I knew I’d found the right home for this next chapter.”

Jonathan Ker, Partner and Managing Director at Madre, added: “I was struck by the emotional resonance, scale, and polish of Nico’s work, especially knowing it was created on tight budgets. His ambition, clarity of vision, and commitment to the craft are extraordinary. We’re thrilled to welcome him and can’t wait to share his work with agencies and brands.” With Bori on board, Madre continues to cement its status as a home for visionary talent who bring craft, culture, and authenticity to every project.
