A mysterious and maudlin match for the tone of Celeste’s track On With The Show, this superb promo conjures a shadowy theatrical world, beautifully directed by Rodrigo Inada through Iconoclast, with lush production design by Elena Isolini.
Trapped in her own persona, behind a life-like mask, the star appears as a showgirl wandering in a decadent cabaret, on a “surreal journey, where the masked version of her is left with no reflection of her true self,” explains the director.
He goes onto confess: “When I was a kid the most terrifying thought for me was if one day I walked up to a mirror and I'd lost my reflection. I wanted to explore that on this video, what if one day your reflection just decided they don’t wanna be there for you anymore!
"I just felt this story was speaking to me, that sometimes it’s easy to grasp many things in life apart from yourself. And it was really special collaborating with Celeste because for her this song was also about breaking free from expectations and performative acts, and being her true self."
The track is taken from Celeste's recent album Woman of Faces.
