Creative agency Mortierbrigade and production company CZAR Brussels have collaborated to launch this brilliantly clever and comedic short film for ZIJkant's Equal Pay Day, helmed by director Lionel Goldstein.
A tongue-in-cheek commentary on the gender pay gap - which, a study by Ipsos on behalf of ZIJkant unveils, means that Belgian women are paid 21% less than men in the same roles - An Inconvenient Question follows a female news reporter as she asks men, in an array of professions, how much money they make.
From dramatically throwing themselves into cement mixers to deep frying their own faces, the interviewees prefer to suffer a plethora of unimaginably uncomfortable scenarios to distract from answering the inconvenient question, shining a spotlight on the absurd reluctance of Belgians to address the gender pay gap.
