British newspaper The Guardian has released this affecting documentary co-directed by Louis Hollis and Liane Aviram, which follows Dr Lina Qasem-Hassan, a Palestinian doctor living and working in Israel.
The documentary, titled The Oath, centres around the concept of the medical oath that newly graduated medical students are required to take, in order to uphold the ethics of medical practice.
Through this lens and through Dr Qasem-Hassan’s experiences, the film offers an impactful and thought-provoking look at care that transcends borders amid Lina’s contrasting concerns that her profession is drifting away from that principle.
