There’s a lot of performance in this film that weirdly, strangely, works exceptionally well.
When a man approaches his car and turns it on with his phone...and then arms come out behind him, all the other drivers respond in kind. There are close-ups on hitches, fast cuts to speedways, and all accompanied by an epic track. It has the feel of something massive, but the strangely condensed storytelling makes the piece charmingly witty and fun to watch.
Directed by Bernd Faass, Made to Perform is made to please, full of stylish gestures and winks to the camera. The campaign was developed by Preuss und Preuss and produced by ELEMENT E GmbH and Park Pictures.
