Insurance company Santalucía has unveiled this touching campaign created by OriolVillar and sensitively directed by Pep Bosch through Roma.
The affecting short film begins with a retired man inviting his friend to move in after his marriage breaks down. Days turn into weeks as they sharing books, meals and quiet words of advice until the moment comes for the favour to be returned.
Through intimate and domestic vignettes, the dynamic gently shifts. The friend who once needed help now becomes the caregiver, supporting his companion through a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Tender without tipping into mawkishness, the film is made all the more moving by its focus on older male friendship, portraying two men who, in their darkest days, open up and lean on one another.
