Niall O’Brien’s moving tribute to Talos

Director Niall O'Brien helms this heartfelt and gorgeously shot music video for A Dawning, a single from the eponymous album from Icelandic composer and producer Ólafur Arnalds, and late Irish artist Eoin French, known as Talos. 

Produced by emerging Irish production company Coast, the film sensitively weaves beautifully ordinary scenes set against breathtaking natural landscapes, capturing peaceful moments in the lives of real people from West Cork to Reykjavík. Paired with French’s stirring voice, the simple yet poetic visuals are a celebration of life and the little things that make it worth living.  

O’Brien says, “I’ve always felt that the idea of life moving on was something I took from this. No matter how hard things get, we keep going. This film lets us observe the richness of life in its simplicity, and how that simplicity becomes epic when you really consider what it means to live. The glory of living is in the minutiae.”
