Minnesota Timberwolves get real loud in new campaign
A film by FIN Studios echoes the story of fan excitement and how player personalities and on and off-court antics have exploded across Wolves fandom.
The Minnesota Timberwolves launch a new internally developed campaign that celebrates the authenticity of its players and fans, and the way they express that authenticity to the world.
Coming off consecutive Western Conference Finals appearances, five straight playoff runs, and an era under new ownership, the Timberwolves are capitaliSing on unprecedented fan excitement with a campaign that reflects the booming energy in the arena, on the court, and throughout the Twin Cities community.
The Real Loud campaign was brought to life with the help of FIN Studios through a :30 film titled Comes Back Louder. The original concept was conceived and produced by FIN Studios under the creative direction of Damien Nemire-Pepe to celebrate the team's new “louder” posture, unique personalities, and tight-knit camaraderie.
Highlighting Anthony Edwards alongside star power like LaMelo Ball, Rudy Gobert, and Jaden McDaniels, the spot captures how the players’ infectious swagger and high-octane energy resonate across internet culture and echo back even louder through the fan base.
"We are in the midst of a defining era for Timberwolves basketball, and Real Loud captures the immense energy surrounding this team," said Bailey Wallner, VP of Marketing at Minnesota Timberwolves. "From the electric atmosphere in the arena to the passion across the community, this campaign reflects what it means to be part of the Wolves fandom right now."
"Bringing 'Real Loud' to life was about capturing something that already exists in Minneapolis," said Nemire-Pepe. "The connection between the team and the community is incredibly strong right now, and the city keeps amplifying that energy. We wanted Minneapolis itself to be part of making the film. From neighborhood businesses to local theaters and print shops, the people and places of the Twin Cities gave this work its voice and authenticity."

Longtime Timberwolves television analyst and former NBA veteran Jim Peterson, entering his 29th season with the franchise, kicks off the spot by setting up the central premise at a mock press conference: "Hey Ant, what did you think of the crowd tonight?"
The new film heavily integrates the Timberwolves’ updated visual brand identity, including new logos, uniforms, and style guide elements introduced this past summer. FIN Studios took those design elements and translated them into physical culture, bringing the fandom to life through yard signs, screenprinted apparel, and digital social media moments.
Shot across Minneapolis over two days by Los Angeles-based director (and Minnesota native) Blaize Fobbe, the production leaned heavily on authentic local establishments and businesses, including a locally owned movieplex, a neighbourhood print shop, and iconic city locations. The shoot kicked off with Timberwolves Media Day, capturing real, candid player moments with only minutes of access per athlete, including an Anthony Edwards press conference and LaMelo Ball during practice shooting.
To create a grounded, authentic feel, physical props seen in the film, such as custom player t-shirts and yard signs, were produced locally overnight by a nearby screen printer and brought directly to set the following day.
Post-production was spearheaded by FIN Studios, edited by lead editor Ling Ly, alongside Senior Motion Designer Michael Smith. Together, they developed a frenetic editorial style bolstered by a custom motion design and social media visual language required to capture how Wolves fandom explodes across the internet.
