Strange though it may seem, there are people in the world who dislike musicals.

When explaining why, these poor soulless creatures living on the fringes of – but never really accessing – joy, often cite characters’ spontaneous, seemingly nonsensical eruption into song as the reason.

Those of us who get musicals, see nothing nonsensical at all. Being moved to express oneself via the medium of song is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, as this sweet and simple ad, created by agencies BBDO and Critical Mass, and directed by The Corner Shop’s Peter Thwaites, reveals.

Titled A Little Love, the spot sees various characters, including basketball legend LeBron James and AT&T regular character Lily (played by Milana Vayntrub) join with others in a rendition of Jackie DeShannon’s 1969 hit Put a Little Love In Your Heart.

Whether across balconies or via phones, they all find a shared ditty is a heartening way to communicate camaraderie and togetherness when the world can seem a disconnected place.
