Russian filmmaker Ilya Naishuller may be more used to bone-breaks and stunts than boardrooms and stats, but his frenetic and adrenaline-pumping style could not be better placed than in this exciting spot for Tochka Bank.
Expounding the stresses and strains of leadership that the financial company can help alleviate, Do what only YOU can do, shot through Daddy’s Film Production, sees Tenet/Game of Thrones actor Yuri Kolokolnikov struggle through a montage of disgruntled employees, endless filing, and corporate paranoia.
Shot on 16mm, with claustrophobic camera work and an intense electronic soundtrack only heightening the tension (Naishuller himself citing Darren Aronofsky’s Pi as an influence), this terrific intensity experiment is a pressure worth releasing.
