As anyone who owns, or has seen, a small dog will know, the tinier the pooch, the higher the opinion of their powers.

Using this truism to create a delightful campaign for their Small Dog Dry Dog Food, PEDIGREE, with agency BBDO NY, has crafted a comic-inspired collection of assets named Hero-ish.

The work kicks off with a pair of spots - Unintimidator and Underestimator - that show the internal impression of the mutt's own physicality brought to life with charming animation and live-action sequences.

The spots are accompanied by a comic book, called The League of Hero-ish Small Dogs, which stars genuine small dog influencers Coco and Cici the Maltese, Bertie the Pomeranian, Maya the Mini Dachshund and Ducky the Yorkie in a wild tale; plus a Snapchat lens which allows pet owners to see what superpowers their small dogs think they possess alongside a filter that puts people and their pets inside the comic.

What's more, with the release of the book, the PEDIGREE brand is also kicking off the Hero-ish Small Dog Contest, where dog owners across the country can share the superpowers their small dogs think they have for a chance to have their pups featured in the next issue of the exciting pup-venture. The contest is open for entries now through March 26, 2021.
