This engrossing, intimate story of Jodie Ounsley details her life from being born profoundly deaf, to having cochlear implants at the age of 14 months and then her trajectory to becoming an elite athlete and, eventually, a Gladiator on prime time UK television.
Told in Ounsley's own words, with home video footage showing her through the years, the film won its director, Lorenzo Sorbini, gold at last year's Kinsale Shark Awards.
Created by LaPlage and produced through Earthling the film sees Ounsley discuss the challenges she faced as a deaf child in a hearing world, the solitude she sometimes feels, and the giant strides she made to become an international rugby player and, more recently, a household name and role model in the smash hit show Gladiators.
