From polyamory to paddling nuns and blue painted turtles, flickering flowers to fantastical woodland blob creatures, this music video for Coldplay’s ALiEN HiTS/ALiEN RADiO is an epic visual journey exploring themes of nature and togetherness.
Stylised as '🌈' the song is from Coldplay‘s tenth studio album Moon Music and features Chris Martin’s plaintive tones and ethereal guitars forming an ode to hope in a troubled world – finding the rainbows that appear among clouds.
This floaty philosophical mood is perfectly matched by a mosaic of images created by intricate 2D animated sequences, hand-crafted stop-motion moments and contributions from documentary filmmakers, live action directors and photographers, who all bring a unique and varied perspective to the film.
Blinkink directors Sam Gainsborough, Will Wightman and Zach Tavel feature amongst the 28 selected filmmakers, alongside frequent Blinkink collaborators Daniel Quirke and Studio Gruff.
