Created by BBH and directed by The Sacred Egg through Riff Raff, Burger King’s charmingly retro spot follows a hungry hero as he journeys through time, from 1960s to the 2020s, steadfastly ignoring Whopper ads as he goes.

Unaware of the Whopper-dominated world, diners savour the tasty chicken burger and, when the hero eventually reaches a Burger King counter, he eschews the large burger bun combo in favour of a Chicken Royale. 

Titled We Give Up, the campaign highlights just how much effort Burger King UK has put into making the Whopper famous. With today, 7 June, being 'Chicken Royale Day' the brand is offering UK fans a £1 Chicken Royale via the Burger King app. The campaign will run in the UK on television, OOH, social press and print, over a 10-month period.
