Blinkink has announced that Los Angeles-based director and writer Jonny Look has joined their team for commercial representation across USA and Europe.

Known for his offbeat approach to comedy, Look creates meticulously crafted worlds around unexpected ideas, combining deadpan performances, inventive sound design and cinematic visuals. His work has a distinctive sense of humour and whimsy, with a knack for turning the absurd into something captivating and entirely his own.

Look’s work spans commercials and music videos to short films. With a background in writing and comedy, he brings a strong sense of narrative and performance to his work, often combining live action, visual effects and practical builds to bring his ideas to life. He has a particular love for hands-on, analogue filmmaking, from weird puppets and in-camera practical effects to experimenting with old-school video formats.

Look has established himself as a highly sought-after director crafting campaigns for global brands like Adidas, Spotify, Clarks, and Reebok with high profile talent such as Shaquille O’Neal, Messi and Lamine Yamal. Seamlessly bridging the gap between brand work and cinema, Look is also a celebrated voice on the festival circuit, where his independent short films like Assholes and the Slamdance-selected Write a Song About Heartache showcase his fearless, subversively funny storytelling.

His unique vision has earned him widespread acclaim across the industry's most prestigious creative showcases. His work has earned multiple Vimeo Staff Picks and recognition at Cannes Lions, where he was selected for the 2025 Saatchi & Saatchi New Creators Showcase, highlighting his distinctive approach to comedy and filmmaking. Additionally, his work has been celebrated at the global 1.4 Awards for brilliant filmmaking, while platforms like Booooooom TV have previously spotlighted his music videos in their highly competitive annual "Best Music Videos" curation.

Look adds, “In 2014 I went suit thrifting for my friend Jason’s wedding. I was too short to fit in most suits off the rack, and baggy suits only look stylish on tall people. So many good looking suits… just not the right fit. But then, deep in the racks, a brown nineteen seventies polyester three piece was waiting for me (17 bucks!). An anomaly. Anyway, that’s how I feel with BLINKINK - it fits like a 1970s polyester three piece suit (real nice). They have an accomplished history of doing what I enjoy most out of films, creating tactile, surreal, funny and cinematic pieces of video and I’m excited about the work we’ll get to create together."

As one of Blinkink's Executive Producer, Joe Byrne, says: "We have such a rich history at Blink of developing directors from making the funniest short films we've seen through into the commercial space. Jonny feels like a perfect fit for that journey, and he'll be a huge part of our US build. We're very excited to have him on board."

With Look joining the roster, Blinkink looks forward to bringing his distinctive approach to comedy and filmmaking to new audiences and collaborations worldwide.
