Part of the joy of Christmas is seeing kids experience the magic of the season, and the young lad in this sweet film for Tesco Ireland sees more magic than most.

Created by BBH Dublin, Helping Christmas Feel Magic follows a boy who becomes convinced that a particularly helpful supermarket employee is actually an elf in disguise. Armed with his granny's copy of Wild Elves of Ireland, he sets about gathering evidence to prove his suspicions.

The charming film, directed by Elliott Power through Love Song and Assembly, is accompanied by an OOH campaign featuring a giant recreation of the storybook, illustrated by Kitty Moss, alongside festive activations and giveaways.

“Christmas isn’t magical by accident. It’s built by thousands of small acts of help that happen behind the scenes,” says Marcos Gemal, executive creative director at BBH Dublin. “In Ireland, nobody does more of that unseen work than the Tesco colleagues. They’re not elves. But if you’re six years old and paying attention, you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.”

“Christmas is about creating special moments that families remember,” explains Naomi Kasolowsky, customer director at Tesco Ireland. “At Tesco, we know that making those moments happen takes lots of little helps.

"This campaign is a celebration of our colleagues and the part they play in helping Christmas feel magic for families across Ireland.”
