Created by Innocean Sydney, the ‘Show up for Equality’ platform launched with a social teaser film dubbed Invi-Tate-ion.
Edits from the pronouncements of the former kickboxer, businessman and toxic influencer, have been marvelously mangled into an invitation for men to show up, lean in and get involved in IWD on 8 March.
The campaign hub ShowupforIWD.com.au aims to get Australia’s ‘good guys’ inspired into action. Wez Hawes, Executive Creative Director at Innocean, says: “We needed a way to directly tell men that they are invited to any IWD event. The not-so-subtle dick-pic inspired ‘Unsolicited Invites’ and Invi-Tate-ion are just some of the many ways we’re telling men that they are welcome and that this day is for them too.”
In a delicious piece of irony, the campaign launches on the day that the legal team of Andrew Tate – who is currently being held in detention in Romania on suspicion of organised crime and human trafficking – have claimed the influencer’s public statements have previously been “taken out of context”.
