Apple’s latest 'Shot on iPhone' campaign is a delightfully tongue-in-cheek micronovela that celebrates Mexican soap operas while showcasing the 17 Pro’s fancy filmmaking tech.

Created by Apple for TBWA\Media Arts Lab and directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Salvador Espinosa through Landia, Nido de Villanas blends two storytelling formats: the telenovela and the micro drama.
Made in partnership with Mexican broadcaster Televisa, the 14 short-form, vertically optimised episodes follow the skullduggery of the Iturribiaga family as a bitter inheritance dispute unleashes betrayals and shifting alliances.
Starring four of Mexico's leading telenovela actors – Itatí Cantoral, Gabriela Spanic, Ela Velden and Mariana Torres – the series was shot by acclaimed cinematographer Alexis Zabé and also boasts an original score by composer Juan Carlos Enríquez, who’s put a contemporary spin on the unmistakable sound of classic Mexican television.
