Sam Smith has released the official music video for My Guy, directed by Haya Waseem for Object & Animal that finds them exactly where you'd want them, centre stage in a dimly lit speakeasy, singing their hearts out.
The video opens with Smith waking up in bed beside a partner whose face is never fully revealed. Throughout the video, that person remains anonymous, making them feel more like the embodiment of love than a specific character. Most of the video follows Smith moving through quiet, everyday moments, walking through sunlit spaces, singing directly to the camera, and sharing affectionate gestures with their unseen partner.
They embrace, dance slowly, and enjoy the comfort of simply being together. Rather than dramatic events or elaborate choreography, the focus is on small acts of intimacy: lingering touches, close embraces, and the feeling of being completely at ease with someone you love.

The video is a portrait of longing set against velvet booths, candlelight, and a room full of people who look like they've been there all night. Smith moves through the space with the kind of ease that only comes from really meaning every word, performing to the crowd, to the camera, to no one and everyone at once. It's a love song that knows what it is, and the production design holds it up without overcomplicating it.
The video continues Object & Animal's ongoing run of work with Waseem, adding to the company's growing roster of heartfelt, intentional music videos, defining Sam Smith's new album roll out by being the first visual for their first single off the album.
