Preymaker welcomes Theuns Van Rensburg and Robert Bruce
The two creative leaders have worked on a long list of award-winning commercials and high-profile feature films.
Creative technology studio Preymaker welcomes Theuns Van Rensburg and Robert Bruce to the company’s Creative team.
Both are highly respected creative leaders and visual effects artists whose credits span commercials and feature films. Van Rensburg was recently 2D Lead on the 2026 Super Bowl spot The Choice for Pepsi featuring fully CG Pepsi polar bears, which won a GOLD Andy Award and ranked third on USA Today’s prestigious Super Bowl Ad Meter, and the 2023 Super Bowl spot booking.com Somewhere, Anywhere with Melissa McCarthy which was the game’s most watched ad on YouTube. And Bruce was recently VFX Supervisor on Super CLIO award-winning and Emmy-nominated Michael CeraVe for CeraVe, and Compositor on Zillow The Journey which won Best in Show at AICP and was nominated for two VES Awards.

Van Rensburg joins Preymaker from Framestore, where he was VFX and Compositing Supervisor working on campaigns for brands such as Nissan, Coors, Snapdragon, booking.com, Cadburys, Coca-Cola, Audi and many others, as well as supervising teams, liaising with clients, budgeting jobs and improving workflows. Previous posts include working independently in Europe as a VFX Supervisor and Flame Artist and as a Video Editor at UEFA/European Football Associations; and he also was on staff at Black Ginger, Cape Town, as Lead Online Editor and Flame Artist, where his credits included the features films Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, 24 Hours to Live and The Last Face.

What has impressed me more is how Preymaker has been on the cutting edge of innovative AI and pipeline tools that are changing how we approach production. I am excited to build on that ingenuity alongside such a talented group of people and hope together we can keep pushing the craft of visual effects.”
Bruce most recently helped launch UK creative studio Coffee & TV in the US. Prior to that he was one of Blacksmith’s first hires of the 2D department, helping the studio establish their brand working on high profile campaigns for Zillow, YouTube, Apple and Macy’s, along with the aforementioned CeraVe, and collaborating with acclaimed directors Kim Gehrig, Martin de Thurah, Matthijs van Heijningen, Tim & Eric and the late Ringan Ledwidge. He also headed 2D for the New York office of Mr. X, working on high profile feature films with directors such as Darren Aronofsky, Ang Lee, Guillermo del Toro, Doug Liman, Ben Stiller and Adam McKay. And he began his career at The Mill.
