Director and photographer Sophie Ebrard is at the helm of this new campaign for L'Oreal France which introduces us to some people who have, in the past, struggled to accept their own skin.
Created by McCann Paris and shot through BOLD London, those featured in the campaign were all street cast, and the film and accompany images [below] show how early worries about their appearance blighted their early lives.
Some struggled to deal with their vitiligo, others with acne, a scar or a birthmark. The cast members talk about using excessive make-up, bullying and avoiding close relationships due to their low self-confidence.
But the beautifully shot and lit film evolves as the cast tells us how age, experience, children and growing self-worth showed them that accepting their own skin has made them stronger.
