Directed by Kalum Ko, this cinematic short film paints a soulful picture of artist, writer, independent curator and Co-Founder of the Brooklyn Rail, Phong Bui, in his Brooklyn studio.
A mix of colour and monochrome vignettes set amid Bui’s industrial workspace capture fleeting insights and conversations, forming a rich and soulful portrait of Bui's creative endeavours and outlook on life.
On making the film, Ko says: “I did not want this film to become a traditional artist profile. I wanted to capture something closer to the feeling of being in Phong’s presence: the fragments, gestures, conversations, and quiet moments that continued to linger in my mind."
