Gatorade's new campaign, featuring Serena Williams, Hansel Enmanuel and Sunisa Lee, focusses on how these three athletes draw on their inner strength to attain success.
Created by Swift Portland and directed by, respectively, Computer Team's Drew Tyndell, Unlimited Time Only and RW Media's Lucy Dyson, the three one-minute spots are a beautiful combination of live-action and animation.
In each film the featured athlete shares their “inner strong”: belief for Williams, work ethic for Lee and focus for Enmanuel, each giving advice throughout the ads. For example, Lee advises people to “Trust yourself, give yourself patience, and use those tools to eliminate all the doubt.”
This effort marks the second chapter of Gatorade’s multi-year 'Fuel Tomorrow' initiative, which focuses on breaking down barriers to empower the next generation of athletes. While the first chapter highlighted the moment when one falls in love with a sport, this second iteration underscores how success derives from inner strength.
