We always expect a degree of hyperbole from an ad's VO, but the excitable narrator of Wieden+Kennedy London's new spot for the Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid is probably taking it a bit too far.
Set up very much like a 'standard' car ad - all tyres through puddles and winding roads - More Power. Just in Case. takes a turn for the anarchic in its use-case depictions; heading from towing hay bales and powering plug-in saws to dragging UFOs from an Area 51-esque hangar and juicing up laser cannons.
Directed by Anonymous Content's Tim Godsall, the film's slyly introduced absurdity makes it utterly engaging, whilst also giving us a good argument for which vehicles could withstand an alien invasion...
