Final sessions announced for Out of the Box LA
If you ever wanted access to some top-level agency producers to whom you could ask... well... anything, then you're in luck. Plus, how will Generation Alpha's gamified existence and tech-first approach to life challenge traditional marketing systems? Check out the full line-up for next week's event here.
Stop us if you've heard this one before: a creative sociologist, a rockstar, an awards-heavy ECD, a quartet of kick-ass industry women, two stoner-savvy creatives, a gamification academic, and four of the best agency heads of production walk into a Downtown bar...
There’s no punchline, but if that list gets your inspiration glands tingling, you might want to grab one of the last remaining tickets to the upcoming shots Out of the Box event in Los Angeles.
Taking place at the Bike Shed in Downtown, the day's schedule of interactive speaker sessions and on-stage conversations has just added a little more jam to the brain-busting sandwich. Here are the latest additions:
Gamification in a non-linear world: The new reality loop
Gen Alpha approaches life like an open-world game, expecting everything to be interactive, competitive, and rewards-based – whether learning, shopping, socialising, or entertainment.
They explore, experiment, and jump between different paths based on what’s most engaging in the moment. This non-linear thinking challenges traditional narratives in education, marketing, and personal identity.
Presented by Monica Chun, president of ACC, and Matthew Le Veque, professor at USC, this session will explore how growing up with non-linear narratives – TikTok, interactive games, VR, YouTube Shorts – impacts identity and self-expression.

Heads of Production: Ask Me Anything
This wildly interactive session, chaired by RSA Films president Luke Ricci, sees a panel of top creative agency leaders discuss the key challenges and solutions shaping the business. Topics will include evolving working practices, common pitfalls, and the impact of new technologies on production workflows.
Featuring speakers: Brian O’Rourke, global chief production officer at TBWA\Media Arts Lab; Autumn Childress, head of production at Quality Meats Creative; Brett Alexander, SVP, managing director and head of production at The Martin Agency; and Diego de la Maza, chief production officer at Deutsch LA. Expect discussion on AI, production locations, and the impact of fires – both political and literal – on the current landscape.
Get your questions ready – this one promises to be feisty.
