Cobblestone announce the signing of LA-based Hala Matar, a visionary Bahraini film director whose dynamic and cinematic voice has earned acclaim across the worlds of fashion, music, and cinema.

Known for her bold, imaginative storytelling and striking visual style, Matar has directed commercials and branded content for some of the world’s most iconic fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Moncler, Kenzo, Vivienne Westwood, Issey Miyake, and Diesel. Her work blends style with substance and has garnered global attention for its originality and flair.

Matar’s debut feature film ELECTRA is set to hit cinemas on May 2. A suspenseful drama with the stylish tension of The Talented Mr. Ripley and Saltburn, ELECTRA stars Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova alongside Abigail Cowen and Jack Farthing.

In addition to her commercial and long-form work, Matar has directed music videos for Interpol, The Voidz, and Poolside, collaborating with a wide range of celebrated talent including Kristen Stewart, Chloë Sevigny, Johnny Knoxville, Suki Waterhouse, Anton Yelchin, and Matthew Gray Gubler.

Outside of filmmaking, Matar is a respected curator of art exhibitions, having worked with internationally acclaimed artists such as Martin Creed, Ryan Gander, Madeline Hollander, Gohar World, Peter Shire, Darren Bader, and Piero Golia. Her creative practice seamlessly spans across disciplines, offering a unique and deeply artistic perspective.
