Quriosity Productions has signed award-winning Montreal-based director Didier Charette for US commercial representation, marking his first official deal with a US-based production company. The news follows two standout spots he directed for BarkleyOKRP and Premier Protein.

“My goal is the Super Bowl,” Charette quips, only half joking. “I’ve directed spots that aired during Canada’s Super Bowl, but I’ve always been drawn to the energy, scale, and creative ambition of the US market. There’s a unique opportunity here to collaborate with bold agencies and brands, and that excites me a lot.”

Charette is known for his visually dynamic style, blending cinematic aesthetics with social-media-savvy energy. He joins Quriosity after directing two campaigns for Premier Protein: Join the Party and Indulgence. The former leans into authentic, UGC-style comedy and fast-paced visual transitions, while the latter spotlights the brand’s indulgent protein line with lush product shots and playful storytelling.

“Didier is an amazing artist,” says Qadree Holmes, Founder and Executive Producer of Quriosity. “He thinks strategically with style and transitions, and his work is fun, fast-moving, and always purposeful. He’s a perfect fit for where the US market is heading.”

Mark Conley, Quriosity Executive Producer, adds: “For Join the Party, Didier determined the best way to achieve the UGC look was to shoot on an actual iPhone Pro16. From stabilisers to motion rigs, every move was planned with precision. His attention to editorial structure during production is what really elevates his work.”

Charette’s background spans music videos, branded content, and short films, including work for Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Keurig, A&W, and Tourism Montreal, where he directed a campaign starring William Shatner. His music video credits include numerous collaborations with Canadian rapper Loud and a Best Director nomination at the 2017 Much Music Video Awards.

He began his career as a director, producer, and host for Canadian music TV series BRBR, earning a Gémeaux Award nomination and eventually transitioning into commercial and narrative work. “It all started with a phone call,” Charette says of his new partnership with Quriosity. “We pitched, we won, and next thing I knew, we were in Vancouver shooting with robots and iPhones.”

Looking ahead, Charette sees the move as both a creative and cultural leap. “Now, I’m from Canada, and flipping a snowmobile without spilling your coffee is a life skill,” he jokes. “I like to work with people who don’t just go through the motions but push every project to be its best. That’s exactly what I found at Quriosity.”

“My goal with Qadree, Mark and their team is to push the boundaries of storytelling in advertising, blending humour, cinematic visuals, and human connection. I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to American audiences.”
