What if a dog’s personality could be revealed?
BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas New York’s new creative project helps rescue dogs get seen, by adopters through art.
Agencies BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas New York built a campaign around that question at a time when it really matters, over 2.8 million dogs entered US shelters in 2025 alone, and many animal welfare groups in Singapore are recording their lowest adoption rates since 2019.
BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas New York partnered with The Sato Project and Powerhouse Arts to create The Rescue Collection, a creative experiment that gives rescue dogs a new way to connect with potential adopters through art.
Dogs from The Sato Project were invited to explore the gallery at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, where their reactions to different artworks were observed by animal welfare scientist Dr. Holly Molinaro, with those responses shaping personalized “collections” that reflected each dog’s individuality, not just their past.
The work used creativity to challenge how rescue dogs are seen, moving beyond breed and first impressions to help people connect deeper with the dog behind the adoption profile. You can learn more about the project, explore the dogs’ collections and search for your own “masterpiece” match at The Sato Project.
