Titled Speed Demons, the trilogy of films, created for Waka Kotahi by McCann NZ, depict three scenarios where drivers feel under pressure to speed up due to the harassment of malevolent creatures.
Produced by FINCH, they were directed by Michael Hili, who is also a stage designer and took on the production design for the project.
All the sets, backdrops and monster puppets, were painstakingly hand-crafted with the latter brilliantly representing pushy motorists at the rear, peer pressure from passengers and driver anxiety about being late.
