US agency VCCP wanted to make something scary for Halloween and thought, what is scarier than our own industry?

Inspired by true stories that many in the business can relate to, they posed the scariest question of all: Will you kill it in the industry? Or will the industry kill you?

Kill It or Be Killed is an 8-bit video game created by the creative department at VCCP. The plot? You start out as a junior creative at fictional agency Hollow & Vane, but can you survive to become the boss?

The game features challenges such as racing your CD to get the idea in, the panic attack, the 'find the actual strategy' maze, navigating bad campaign PR, deciding who gets the credit for the idea and more. The game is a strange, unsettling but entertaining journey through the minefields of agency life.

"You don’t need to have worked in advertising for long to know the business is the best - but it can also be a wild ride," said Brett Edgar, CEO at VCCP US. "So the creative department at VCCP created a game that parodies advertising; it's funny, relatable, and most importantly, it was just really fun to make."
