Terveystalo launch new campaign
Pete Riski turns the focus from athlete to coach in new Terveystalo film by Directors Guild HelsinkI.
Directors Guild Helsinki director Pete Riski brings his distinctively sensitive storytelling to a new film for Finnish healthcare company Terveystalo, following the special bond between a young footballer and her coach, and reminding us that sometimes the person giving the support needs it too.
The film opens on a young player finding her confidence with the quiet support of her coach. A reassuring look, a few words from the sidelines, a hand on the shoulder. Alongside these moments, a doctor’s clinical dictation begins to describe a patient’s symptoms.
We naturally assume the story belongs to the young athlete. It doesn’t...

As the film unfolds, the focus shifts to the coach. Health concerns are making it increasingly difficult for her to do the job she loves. Terveystalo steps in with examinations, a treatment plan and care that eventually gets her back where she belongs: on the pitch, coaching her team.
The narrative turn gives a fresh perspective to Terveystalo’s long running concept: we focus on your health, so you can focus on what truly matters. In this story, that means football, coaching and being there for someone who needs you.
The longstanding collaboration between Terveystalo and Directors Guild has allowed the concept to evolve naturally along the way. With each new execution, its core idea has become clearer and more recognisable, while the storytelling continues to find new human perspectives through which to express it.
For Riski, the emotion lives in the smallest moments. Rather than underlining it, the film finds its feeling in glances, gestures and the unspoken connection between the two characters. It is an approach familiar from his previous work for Terveystalo: deeply human storytelling built around recognisable emotions, while always finding a new way into the concept’s core idea.
Behind the camera is Swedish cinematographer Albin Sjödin, whose naturalistic approach and delicate use of available light give the film an intimate, almost poetic quality. His cinematography stays close to the characters, allowing faces, movement and small human moments to carry the story.
