Supermodel, formed by established filmmakers, artists and musicians Emile Rafael and Joe Connor, release 17 Days, a new self-directed music video exploring technology, addiction and modern anxiety.

The pair write the music and lyrics collaboratively, with Connor performing, they direct the video themselves.

Developed alongside their independent directing careers, Supermodel operates as a shared creative outlet. Now on its fourth release, the collaboration allows them to explore their creativity instinctively.

17 Days is a visceral exploration of addiction, an internal war driven by the pull of power, and control.  At its centre, an ominous black orb embodies that consumption. It’s a story about reclamation and the fight to reconnect with something real in a world built to keep us distracted.

The video marks a step up in scale from their critically acclaimed last video for Push and centres around an extended, choreographed fight sequence that runs through the full piece, pushing it beyond traditional music video structure.

“We’re grappling with more complex ideas now,  technology, addiction, dependency,” says Connor.

“Emotion comes first,” adds Rafael. “If it doesn’t leave you with something, the rest doesn’t matter.”

Blending music and moving image, Supermodel continues to carve out a distinct space between disciplines, driven by instinct, tension and a shared creative perspective.

The video was co-produced by Rogue, Closer, FutureFrank and La Pac, with Cinematography by Martijn Melis with VFX by Agile Films lead by David Horsburgh, colour by Thomas Mangham at Black Kite Studios, edit by Hannah Yerbury at Marshall Street Editors.
