Stept Signs with Moustache for East Coast representation
The partnership reflects Stept’s growing presence in New York and the broader East Coast market.
Creative and production studio, Stept, has signed with Jared Shapiro at Moustache for commercial representation on the East Coast, marking a pivotal step in the company’s evolution as its director roster enters a new phase of creative momentum.
The partnership reflects Stept’s growing presence in New York and the broader East Coast market, and more importantly, the expanding ambition of its filmmakers.
Over the past year, Stept has added directors including Warner Shaw, Truesdell Brothers, and Toby Morris. Directors that bring distinct creative perspectives and new production methodologies that blend performance, technology, AI workflows, VFX, and elevated cinematic craft.
These additions complement an already diverse and stylistically bold roster including Brenden Vaughn, Soleil Denault, Maya Table, Daniel Wardh, with the comedy and storytelling of Varsity and Adam Patch, alongside globally recognized storytellers Jimmy Chin and Nick Martini.
Together, the roster represents a cross-section of modern filmmaking: performance-driven storytelling, documentary authenticity, high-concept visual worlds, culturally fluent brand work, and cutting-edge production innovation.
“This moment is about our directors,” said Joe Biggins, Managing Director at Stept Studios. “We’ve built a roster that reflects where filmmaking is headed. Directors who excel with craft, but who are also experimenting with technology, structure, and storytelling in new ways. Partnering with Jared allows us to advocate for that talent more aggressively on the East Coast and to unlock opportunities that match their ambition.”
Shapiro, known for building long-term creative partnerships and championing distinct voices, will represent Stept’s directors across the East Coast market. The studio will continue its relationships with Diplomat on the West Coast and Doug Stephens in the Midwest.
As brands and agencies increasingly seek directors who can navigate both cinematic storytelling and emerging production models, Stept’s roster reflects a generation of filmmakers equally fluent in narrative, culture, and innovation.
