When it comes to putting meat in bread, the Americans pretty much have it nailed. However, the delights of a German Doner Kebab seem to have so-far evaded those Stateside... until today.

Introducing the nation to the Glasgow-originated restaurant chain, Quality Meats has leant into the bemusement by making a trio of ads that brilliantly befuddle with their execution, asking punters to Open Your Mouth Mind.

Using the talents of Method & Madness directing duo Casey Lock and Ross Zuchowski to channel both method AND madness, the films' OTT Gen-Z-aimed mania, plus deliciously naff FX, makes for a series that's hard to ignore.

“We want to both educate and entertain – or ’edutain’ – while leaning into Gen Z and American’s open-mindedness when it comes to their QSR preferences, where they value quality and authenticity,” said Thorsk Westphal, Global Chief Marketing Officer of GDK.

“A place called German Doner Kebab might be a tad confusing to younger Americans if they’ve never encountered those three words put together. It’s not a kebab on a stick? What exactly is a doner? And how does German play into the whole thing?,” says Brian Siedband, Co-Founder and Co-Chief Creative Officer of Quality Meats.

“We wanted to acknowledge that confusion head-on but in a way that charms them into wanting to try it.”
