The ex Finch EP Nick Simkins forms a new production company, with Ariel Martin as the first name on the roster.
Cousin, a new production company headed by former Finch Executive Producer Nick Simkins, has opened its doors.
During Simkins's time at Finch the company won numerous Production Company of the Year awards including at Ciclope Asia, shots Asia Pacific, and Campaign Brief's The Work. They also won the honour at AWARD Awards in 2025.
Award winning director Ariel Martin is onboard as the foundation director, with more to be announced soon.
Martin notes “I’ve known Nick since I was 22 when he hired me to make coffees as a bright-eyed runner. I’ve long thought he was primed to build a production company around his ethos that’s made him a leading EP: director focused, good taste, deep relationships.
I’m stoked to be involved in Cousin at the ground floor, but it’s the next couple of years, and the foundational roster he builds that I’m extra pumped to be a part of."
