Not Just Any brings Pride and Prejudice to life for Audible
Working in close partnership with the creative team at Alphabetical, the campaign was staged across six international cities over thirteen shoots and brought together a truly global cast.
Not Just Any announce the launch of our global campaign for Audible Originals adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
This ambitious project marked our first collaboration with director William McGregor since he joined our roster in July, and it set the stage for one of our most complex and creatively rewarding productions to date.
Working in close partnership with the creative team at Alphabetical, the campaign was staged across six international cities over thirteen shoots and brought together a truly global cast. Each regional shoot added its own unique flavour while seamlessly aligning with a unified cinematic vision. The result is a richly layered campaign that demanded both technical mastery and artistic precision.
At the heart of the concept lies a fusion of live action, traditional craft, and Houdini-driven animation. A visual thread symbolising the enduring connection between Austen’s lead characters. To achieve this, Alphabetical engaged master embroiderers Hand & Lock, whose work has adorned royalty and fashion houses since before the Regency period itself. Their exquisite, hand-stitched embroidery was digitised by the animation team at Northforge, who meticulously translated the textures into breathtaking animations. This embroidery became the visual DNA of the campaign, woven into every execution.

Commenting on his first project with Not Just Any, McGregor shares: “Directing the global campaign for Audible’s Pride and Prejudice has been the perfect first project since joining Not Just Any, fusing virtual production, VFX, graphic design and performance driven storytelling for a well known IP. A perfect crossover of both my advertising and long form directing.”
The landmark adaptation stars Marisa Abela as Elizabeth Bennet and Harris Dickinson as Mr Darcy, and demanded a visual approach that was both sweeping and cinematic. McGregor’s direction combined cutting-edge craft with timeless artistry, capturing the elegance and drama of Austen’s world while pushing the boundaries of modern production.
MD and EP of NJA Prudence Beecroft comments: “This project was a dream from start to finish. Audible reimagined a beloved classic with an international all-star cast, directed by Not Just Any director William McGregor. Alphabetical were brilliant partners. Over 13 shoot days we built a seamless shorthand, delivering creative led by Bob Young that balanced sophistication with simplicity. Stunning Houdini animation by Northforge recreated original hand-stitched textures, layered against performances on LED virtual production screens. Filmed across six global cities, each actor brought a unique imprint while maintaining consistency. The result is a bold fusion of tradition and technology: timeless storytelling reinvented for today’s global audience”
The campaign is now rolling out across TV, cinema, OOH, and digital platforms. A vivid blend of artistry, innovation, and storytelling that brings Pride and Prejudice to life for a new generation.
Founder and Creative Director at Alphabetical Young adds: “When Audible approached us about the project, we knew we wanted to produce something that felt true to the Pride and Prejudice people know and love, while also offering a fresh perspective on it, utilising something inherently linked to the Regency in a modern way.
For us, landing on the concept of using embroidery as the core storytelling tool allowed us to combine the traditional craft of the period with storytelling to highlight the thread that binds the lead characters together. It was great to collaborate with the skilled embroidery team at Hand & Lock, who have been embroidering for royalty and fashion houses since before the Regency period. With them, we developed the campaign's look and feel, which incorporates expressive, hand-stitched embroidery in every execution.
When it came to creating the trailer, the visual approach demanded a beautifully cinematic and sweeping execution, which visionary Director William McGregor and our friends at Not Just Any skilfully captured. Working with the NJA team has been a collaborative process from start to finish. They’ve been outstanding at managing the ambitious scale of the project and responsive to everything we’ve thrown at them. Will is a true talent and an incredible creative to work with; we can’t wait to find another opportunity to collaborate with him and the NJA team again”.
