London-based writer and director Nicolee Tsin has joined the roster at Friend.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Tsin's work is defined by a bold visual language and an unmistakable point of view. Working across commercials, branded content and narrative film, she creates vibrant, cinematic worlds that blur the lines between reality and imagination. Drawing from the sensory memories of her upbringing, her films are packed with rich colour, playful performances and larger-than-life characters, balancing humour, style and cultural observation in equal measure.

Whether she's collaborating with global brands or crafting original narratives, Tsin brings a fresh perspective to every project. Behind the vibrant visuals is a filmmaker committed to celebrating underrepresented communities and telling stories that bridge East and West with authenticity, warmth and wit.

Her growing body of work includes campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, KFC, Intel, Zalando, Mercedes-Benz and Royal Enfield.

For Friend's Head of Sales, Viviana Cerquera, Tsin has long been a filmmaker to watch. "I've been a fan of Nicolee's work for such a long time," says Cerquera.

"She brings an incredible energy to the roster and has such a fresh, distinctive voice. She has a real understanding of culture, and every film she makes feels bold, stylish and completely authentic.

"Her style and tone are exactly the kind of work I naturally gravitate towards and love watching, so I'm genuinely excited that we'll get to work together. I know she's going to bring something really special to Friend, and I can't wait to see what's next."

Tsin's route into directing has been anything but conventional. Starting in graphic design before moving through art direction and working across production, she developed an instinct for visual storytelling from every angle of filmmaking. That curiosity and collaborative spirit continue to define her process today, resulting in films that are as thoughtful as they are visually striking.
