Natuur en bos reflects on life and growth

Directed by Heleen Declercq through Hotel Bonka, this contemplative short film from the Natuur en bos (the Flemish Agency for Nature and Forests) draws attention to the quiet yet powerful presence of trees within modern life. 

Across a series of peaceful vignettes, the work gently captures intimate human moments framed by a lush green backdrop. As seasons shift and time moves on, couples pass through, families walk their dog and later lay him to rest, while the surrounding landscape remains a steady constant. 

The film closes on the line, ‘Trees watch us grow, where do they get to grow?’, underlining the agency’s commitment to preserving and protecting green spaces.
