Modern Post promotes Lauren Friedman to editor
The New York-based post production studio elevates Friedman to its editorial roster.
Creative post production studio Modern Post has promoted Lauren Friedman to editor.
Friedman joined the company in 2019 as an assistant editor, after graduating from NYU’s Film and Television programme in 2017. Her editing credits span music videos, fashion films and commercials, with a style defined by timing, rhythm and a balance of playfulness and emotion.
Her recent work includes Gigi Hadid’s Can’t Stop the Beat for Vogue (featuring Laverne Cox, Cole Escola, Marc Jacobs and Alton Mason), Bad Gyal’s Da Me, the NOWNESS short In Cairo highlighting young female skaters and riders in Egypt, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please, co-edited with William Town.
“I was originally drawn to Modern Post because of the calibre and style of the work — these were the projects that I dreamed of working on,” said Friedman. “What’s kept me here are the people. There’s such a strong sense of passion and dedication to the craft, and everyone’s commitment to excellence is motivating every day.”
Founder William Town added: “Lauren has undeniable instincts for rhythm and emotion, paired with an innate curiosity that keeps her growing from strength to strength. Her work is a genuine expression of that character; she’s a trusted and engaged collaborator, who is not afraid to make her mark, while graciously respecting the stakeholders in the creative process.”
Friedman said she is looking forward to the next step in her career: “I’m excited to take on bigger creative challenges and bring more of my own voice into projects I’m passionate about. Stepping into this role really feels like a dream.”
