DogEatDog signs rising director Jean-Sébastien Degni for music video and commercial representation in the UK.

Degni grew up in Finland, in a family of one half Swedish-speaking Finns and the other from Ivory Coast. Spending his formative years in a country where at times it’s dark round the clock, the aspiring filmmaker lived in his imagination and, as a result, his work lives at the weirder and more genre-bending end of the creative spectrum. Never settling for ordinary, Degni packs his high energy pieces with daring ideas, technical camera moves, outlandish characters, unconventional stories, presented with a knowing confidence and swagger.

Absurd, dynamic and with a heavy coat of dry wit painted across all of it, Degni’s unique creative voice has seen him become a trusted collaborator of artist Wax Bentayga as together they push the boundaries of music visuals, most recently on their piece for track Jenny.

Degni says on joining “I’m excited! I think Natalia and everyone at DogEatDog have a really clear understanding of what my strengths are and support the direction I want to go in, so joining the roster felt like a natural move.”

Natalia Maus, EP and Head of Music, says “I felt an instant connection with Jean-Sébastien’s work. His string of music videos for UK rapper Wax showcases his strong, witty writing, his craft, versatility and his work ethic - not wasting a second of screen time if he can get another idea in"

"We are thrilled to welcome Jean-Sébastien to DogEatDog's music and commercial roster and cannot wait to bring his wonderful ideas to life. He’s also just a bloody lovely person, so it’s no surprise that everyone adores working with him.”
