JEAN launches JEAN’S SISTER
The Los Angeles–based studio opens with a full-service model and its first directors already on the roster... themselves.
A new entrant to the commercial production landscape, JEAN’S SISTER has launched in Los Angeles with an emphasis on speed, collaboration and end-to-end production.
Fittingly, the studio’s first signing is directing team JEAN, the duo behind the venture.
Founded by partners Nat Prisco (executive producer), Eric Eckelman (director) and Armand Prisco (director), JEAN’S SISTER brings together experience across advertising, television and film. They are joined by Josh Rothfeld (executive producer, head of production) and Angela Cheng (head of post production).
The team first gained attention with Recipe for Seduction, KFC’s parody mini-movie starring Mario Lopez, which went on to win a Clio Grand Prix. Since then their output has spanned Super Bowl spots, brand reinventions and collaborations with A-list talent. Credits include campaigns for Pizza Hut, Nestlé, Nautilus, Delta, Amazon, Netflix and Honda, as well as promotional work for FX’s Atlanta and writing stints on The Simpsons and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Recent work includes a campaign for ice-cream brand CVT, with spots Lottery Ticket and Lake House depicting how melting ice-cream can ruin life’s big moments. Directed by JEAN, the films combined the brand’s cult soft-serve with the directors’ irreverent humour and simple, punchy storytelling.
Explaining the decision to sign themselves, partner and director Armand Prisco said: “We were looking for the perfect directors for our first signing.” Partner and director Eric Eckelman added: “We’ve always dreamt of signing with a place like JEAN’S SISTER, so it really meant a lot to us when we decided to sign ourselves.”
The team concluded: “We’ve built a group of people we love working with - writers, directors, producers, screenwriters - who share a love for film, television and even carbonated water. Our approach is to keep everything in-house, from ideation to post, so projects move faster, more efficiently and more economically. The aim is always to deliver work that’s not just on strategy but entertaining too.
"That’s the sweet spot, and we don’t stop until we nail it.”
