When Aldi’s festive teaser saw Kevin the Carrot proposing to his girlfriend Katie Love Actually style, we thought maybe, just maybe, the supermarket was giving him a year off from his usual calamitous antics...
Oh, how wrong we were! This comedic second instalment of the brand’s Christmas campaign, developed by McCann Manchester and directed by Todd Mueller through Psyop, throws us right back into the hysterical chaos of Kevin’s snowy stag-do.
In true Kevin style, the narrative sees the ill-fated root vegetable caught in a little bit of a pickle, strapped to the North Pole and surrounded by charging reindeers in nothing but a bikini.
Bursting with classic Christmas film references and fresh produced-based puns, the spot leaves us hanging just moments before the pair’s magical winter ceremony.
Will Kevin and Katie overcome the festive chaos and make it back for what promises to be the wedding of the season?
