Forget Captain Planet. Move over Bravestarr. The world has a new 80s-style animated hero, and he's packing patties.
To introduce Righteous Burgers, The Monkeys have teamed up with WIZZ director Gary Levesque to create a brilliantly anarchic vigilante who is taking aim at an industry of unsustainable, unnatural and unhealthy food practices... and a distinctive, toy-toting Clown.
Matching the energy and OTT vibe of morning cartoons, not to mention the deliciously authentic hair-rock vocals, this enjoyable campaign gives us a cookin' mascot we can all get behind.
“In the burger industry, there are many villains," comments Hugh Gurney, Creative Director at The Monkeys. "The world needed a hero. So, we created a vigilante that was part Batman, part Beatrix Kiddo, and part burger.
"The campaign seeks to establish Righteous Burgers as an enduring brand idea, which inspires loads of incredible creative ideas in the future.”
“We drew inspiration from the introductions of shows like Captain Planet and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," adds fellow CD Joe Sibley. "We wanted the campaign to be distinctive, memorable and - most importantly - wildly enjoyable.”
