If you’re looking for special effects or pyrotechnics, this is not the music video for you.

If, however, you enjoy watching straightforward, finely-tuned, and exceptionally direct film craft, take a seat. Black Hole is a single-shot music promo for Griff, filmed in restored Hackney Church. As Griff sings in front of a Vantablack screen, she feels lost in space, but entirely capable of using it to her advantage. Youthfully energetic, the piece captures the intimacy of a live session with a more energetic performance space.

Directed by Caviar’s Thomas Ralph, the piece is a beautifully uninterrupted music promo that allows Griff to shine, even against a VBx2 backdrop. Jordan Buck was the DOP on the production, and Jake Whitehouse operated the Steadicam.
